New "Hands Free" Gate Entry System moves traffic 10 times faster and uses 30% less property
Gated Communities and Parking Facilities
are always under pressure to accelerate traffic flow and utilize
available property more efficiently – a difficult challenge. The new AMPASS gate entry system from
AMTEL reduces property requirements
for entry and exit lanes by 30% and moves vehicular traffic up to
ten times faster than existing systems.
The conventional gate entry systems require a center island for
installation of the card reader and therefore, even the most commo
n,
One Lane In / One lane out, system configuration requires over 26
feet across. The same configuration in AMPASS system requires only
18 feet across since the RF-ID tracking technology used in AMPASS
does not require a center island.
The conventional systems require the vehicle to stop, open the
window, present the card and then proceed. AMPASS systems do not
require the user to do anything. As soon as the vehicle approaches
the gate, the RF-ID tag is automatically read,
the gate opens and
the vehicle can proceed without stopping. This whole process takes 2
to 3 seconds per vehicle, compared to 15 to 30 seconds for
conventional systems!
AMPASS is designed for easy, cost-effective installation and servicing, since all system components are located within the gate housing, eliminating complex multi-part installations.
AMPASS system is also designed for easy management and
administration from a local or remote PC and can be used in both
manned and unmanned locations.
