In
a typical Guard-Gate operation, one Entry Lane is reserved for
residents who can use RFID tags, proximity cards, bar code
decals or RF clickers for access to the complex. RFID is
becoming the new standard because of its convenience and its
speed in handling up to 3 times the traffic from the same lane
as the conventional Card Access Systems.
The RFID tag is normally kept in the windshield or on the visor and as the vehicle approaches the gate, the tag is automatically read and the gate opens. The user does not need to stop, open the window and present the card, thereby cutting the processing time from a typical 8-10 seconds to less than 3 seconds!
To minimize the interference issues and to ensure that only the first vehicle in line is being tracked, AMTEL developed an RFID controller that combines a directional antenna, an interlock sensor, special firmware, full control panel, calibration LEDs, an indoor/outdoor housing with universal mounting bracket and many specialized accessories to ensure quick and successful implementation of an RFID project in the field.
This Resident Entry control system can work independently or can be integrated with the Guard- Gate Visitor Screening System, CCTV surveillance system and other systems on the complex that are part of the AMWATCH facility management and security systems family.
